After receiving the report Monday, detectives have been conducting interviews and visiting homes of those students involved in the report, said East Fishkill Police Chief Kevin Keefe.
Because all involved are juveniles, no further details are being disclosed regarding the investigation, police said.
Steps have been taken to address the concerns about the safety of students and there is no reason to keep students from attending school, the chief said.
Police will continue to speak to anyone with first-hand information to continue to assess and complete their investigation.
"There is no cause for alarm if you see an officer on hand at Van Wyck," said Keefe. "We are there to reassure any students or parents who may be anxious or concerned about safety."
